“A Real Mans Tacklebox” is a found object sculpture that combines vintage jewellery, beads, and fishing materials to craft “fishing lures” that reflect my girlhood—a space where traditional femininity intersects with masculine hobbies introduced by my father. These lures encapsulate femininity through object association, exploring how materials signify gender roles. Presenting the collection in a jewellery box entwined on a fishing rod. This installation also highlights the environmental impact of fishing tackle, drawing a parallel with jewellery’s representation of capitalism and greed.
